Furniture is easy to underestimate. A dining table looks sturdy until a corner clips a doorframe. A leather lounge looks tough until it rides against a raw truck floor for half an hour. The damage from a rushed move rarely shows up as one dramatic accident; it shows up as a scuffed sideboard, a cracked veneer, a wardrobe door that no longer sits flush because nobody labelled the fittings. Individually small, together the cost of a "cheap" move you did not really save on.
The difference is method, not muscle. Blanket-wrapping every piece before it leaves the room, taking apart what should come apart, keeping every screw bagged and labelled, and giving the antiques a slower, more careful set of hands: that is what a proper furniture move looks like. It is also what keeps your things looking the way they did before you decided to move them.
Because our price is capped and in writing, careful does not mean a bigger bill. A tricky staircase or an extra hour of reassembly is our problem, not a line item on your invoice. "We wrap everything" can mean a roll of plastic and good intentions, or it can mean a method matched to each piece. Here is what ours actually looks like on the day.
Sofas and upholstery are blanket-wrapped first, then film-wrapped over the blanket. The blanket absorbs the knocks and keeps the film off the fabric, because plastic straight onto leather or linen can trap moisture and mark the surface. That is why plastic-only wrapping is a shortcut we do not take. Glass and mirrors get corner protection before anything else, since corners take the impacts, then a padded wrap and a spot in the truck where they travel upright between soft, stable layers, never laid flat.
Timber and antiques get the most careful treatment: one blanket fitted snugly to the piece, a second layered over the edges and high points, and film only over the top blanket. Nothing adhesive and no plastic ever touches a french-polished or waxed surface, because even a gentle wrap can lift or cloud an old finish. Mattresses travel in covers that keep them clean and dry. Whitegoods are prepared rather than just carried: doors strapped shut, shelves and drums secured, and fridges kept upright the whole way so the compressor oil settles where it should.
When we say a piece is double-wrapped, that is the meaning: a soft layer against the surface and a tough layer over it, doing two different jobs. Blankets absorb the knocks a truck ride hands out; film keeps dust, moisture and doorframes away from the surface. Either one alone is a compromise. Together they are the reason a good crew can move a marble-top table through three doorways and hand it back without a mark.
The wrapping only works if the loading respects it, so wrapped pieces are strapped to the truck walls rather than leaned against each other, heavy items ride low, and nothing sits on an upholstered surface. Padding goes between every layer, which is why a full load can travel across Sydney without the pieces ever touching.

Yes. Plenty of our jobs are a single room: a nursery upgrade, a home office, or a lounge suite making way for a new one. You get the same blanket-wrapping and one capped price scaled to that room, with no full-house minimum attached.
Yes, this is one of our most common jobs. Send us the listing, the pickup suburb and the delivery address, and we collect the piece, wrap it and bring it home, dealing with the seller's stairs so you never have to. It is insured and capped in price like any other move.
Doors are strapped shut, shelves and drums are secured, and fridges travel upright so the compressor oil stays where it should, with time to settle before switching back on. Washing machines should be disconnected and drained before we arrive, and we can advise on transit bolts when you book.
Blankets and padding cover almost everything, but a few things are excluded: gas bottles, fuels, paints and other dangerous goods cannot travel in the truck. A handful of extremely delicate items, like some chandeliers, may need a specialist we can point you to. If you are not sure about a piece, just ask when you get your quote.
